Chad Michaels Expands Health Care and Financial Services Team
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Capitol Counsel announced that they have added Chad Michaels, former Chief of Staff to Congressman David Schweikert (R-AZ), to their health care and financial services team, further strengthening expertise in these two key policy areas.
“Michaels’ deep understanding of the legislative process and strong relationships on Capitol Hill and the Trump Administration make him an invaluable addition for our clients,” said Capitol Counsel Founder John D. Raffaelli. “We’re excited to add him to our team as we navigate an aggressive legislative agenda.”
Most recently, Michaels served as Chief of Staff to Congressman David Schweikert (R-AZ), where he also acted as the Congressman’s lead advisor on the Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee and the Joint Economic Committee. His previous experience includes roles with Congressman Ted Budd (R-NC), Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), and Michigan State Senator John Pappageorge.
Michaels joins the firm as a Principal, bringing more than a decade of experience in congressional affairs and public service to the team. His primary focus at Capitol Counsel will be on health care and financial services policy, while he will also advise clients on oversight and tax issues. He offers clients strategic insight into the House Republican Caucus, leadership dynamics, and key congressional committees, including the House Ways and Means and Energy and Commerce Committees. His subject matter expertise strengthens Capitol Counsel’s ability to guide clients through today’s complex legislative and regulatory landscape.
Before beginning his career on Capitol Hill, Michaels served as a Teach For America Corps Member and later as a Manager of Teacher Leadership Development in Dallas, Texas, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to public service.
